Felony VOP and Battery (St. Lucie County)

Facts: Attorney Paul Bernard represents client JJ, who is on probation and was arrested for battery after a fight with a family member. Our firm appeared at his first court appearance and successfully secured his release. Subsequently, we contacted the State Attorney’s office and persuaded them not to file charges for the battery and to drop the battery. However, a few weeks later, the client was arrested for felony violation of probation due to the earlier battery arrest. Once again, we provided significant mitigating circumstances to the State Attorney’s office, and within a week, the violation of probation was dismissed by court order.

Results: Charges dropped and VOP warrant Dismissed
