Possession of Marijuana over 20gs

Facts: Our client was in the car with a group of friends in a gas station after the officers alleged that the driver was not wearing his seatbelt. Upon making contact with the occupants, the officers stated that they smelled the odor of burnt Marijuana. As a result, all occupants were removed from the car. In the side door pocket of the passenger door where our client was sitting, a bag of Marijuana was recovered. The other occupants said the Marijuana belonged to our client. Attorneys from our firm were able to speak with the State Attorney before a filing decision was made on the case. In addition to providing mitigating information showing our client’s good character and lack of recent criminal history, we offered facts in the report that weakened the State’s case.

Results: As a result, the State attorney dropped all charges against our client.
